Much Ado About Nothing … and Shannon Elizabeth

by Lou on June 26, 2010

File this one under “Who Cares!” A tempest in a teapot is the brouhaha about whether poker player/actress Shannon Elizabeth overcharged players in her home poker game.

Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton reported that Shannon Elizabeth only came into the room to collect money, and accused Elizabeth of overcharging players. He went on to mention a $70 fee for the house from a $250 pot.  For all I know that $70 fee might have been a time pot played periodically to cover the costs of her running the game.

Who knows how much, if any, of this is true.  But even if she was “overcharging,” no one held a gun to anyone’s head, and any player who feels the cost to play is too high should just get up and leave.

It’s a free market, boys and girls, and whenever the price is not to your liking, go look around for a better deal.  It costs less to play online, and probably less to play in a brick-and-mortar casino too—so this post is much ado about nothing.  Except for this: it gives me a good excuse to add some glamour to this blog by running a shot of Shannon Elizabeth.
