Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi Makes His Third World Series of Poker Final Table

Mizrachi, MichaelMichael “The Grinder” Mizrachi’s hot streak continues through the first half of the 2010 World Series of Poker, making three final tables so far. His big payday came when he won the $50,000 Poker Players Championship to take home more than $1.5 million.  He followed this up by finishing sixth in the $10,000 7-card stud world championship and eighth in the $10,000 limit hold’em world championship.

The Poker Players Championship might even have been called “The Brothers Championship,”

As Michael won it and his brother Robert finished fifth, after being eliminated by Michael.  This was the highest finish by two family members in WSOP history.

Mizrachi was recently hit with a $339,711 lien from the US Internal Revenue Service and a condo owned by the brothers was foreclosed on and sold at auction. His own home was foreclosed on in March, so his big win couldn’t have come at a better time.

Mizrachi claims the debts come from mismanagement of poker winnings.  He was quoted as saying he fired his accountant and “hired a better one.”
