Who Will Make the Final Table?

by Lou on May 31, 2007

Early odds on a UK betting site are out. You can bet on a player reaching the final table. Here are the favorites at this early date:

Phil Ivey 20-to-1
Daniel Negreanu 33-to-1
Carlos Mortensen 33-to-1
Allen Cunningham 33-to-1
Phil Hellmuth 40-to-1
Howard Lederer 40-to-1
Antonio Esfandiari 40-to-1
Michael Mizrachi 40-to-1
JC Tran 40-to-1
Erik Seidel 40-to-1
Johnny Chan 40-to-1

At 50-to-1 are Chris Ferguson, Barry Greenstein, Dan Harrington, Gus Hansen, Doyle Brunson, Ted Forrest, John Juanda, Scott Fischman, Scotty Nguyen, Erick Lindgren, Joe Hachem, and John “World” Hennigan.

I’m sure these odds will fluctuate and change as the main event draws near, but there are players that appear overvalued and others that look to be a bargain. But handicapping an event with thousands of entrants is always tough, and the chances of a final table comprised mostly of players no one has ever heard of is always a realistic possibility.

Let the wagering begin.
